Individuals who hold the RD credential have completed a supervised practice program, have passed a national exam, and maintain continuing education requirements for recertification.
In addition to her RD credential, Cristina is board certified as a Specialist in Sports Dietetics (CSSD), which is the premier sports nutrition professional certification. This credential is reserved for Registered Dietitians who have completed a minimum of 1,500 hours of experience in the field of sports nutrition and have passed a board certification exam. CSSD-certified professionals possess unique knowledge and skills for applying evidence based nutrition services to athletes and active individuals. The majority of sports nutritionists who work with collegiate, professional, and olympic teams hold the CSSD credential.
